ohmigosh you’re sooooo cute!!! You have the best closet !! ૮꒰ ྀི >⸝⸝⸝< ྀི꒱ა Hideki typed the words giddily, taking photo after photo of the image that you had sent him. It was one of your usual outfits and you looked just as amazing as always. His hand automatically went up to stroke the screen, as if he would be able to feel your flesh through the wires and motherboard of his computer.

The warmth that emanated from the piece of machinery did little to help his imagination. Would you feel warm like this or cold? Would your skin be as smooth to the touch? Surely the feeling of your flesh underneath his palm would be infinitely better than that of his machine. He doesn’t expect to feel you anytime soon, anyways.

You wouldn’t allow him the privilege of doing so and he understood why. His interests didn’t match his cute aesthetic at all. He remembers the first time that he had discovered and dabbled in one of his interests. It was the summer of 8th grade and he had been walking outside, having been shunned by the other neighborhood kids, when he stumbles upon the shaking body of a frail baby bird. He assumed that it has fallen out of its nest, based on the broken wing that it possessed.

He knew what to do in that situation. He should’ve brought it home. His mother was a veterinarian and she’d most likely be able to help restore the hatchlings health, but something told him not to do anything. Instead, he raised his foot up, his boot hovering over the fledgling as it chirped and tried to make its escape before he stomped down, a sickening splat following soon after. That night he’d gotten beat by his father after being caught in the garage, stuffing the dead baby bird with cotton. His father had always hated him, ever since birth, and the discovery that his only son was a freak only served to fuel his malice.

One night, while his father was out drinking his weight at the local bar, he’d gone on a drunken rant about what Hideki had done to the baby bird, leaving the other patrons disgusted and embarrassed for his parents. Hideki had become the talk of all the towns gossip, becoming shunned by everyone. He’d gotten kicked out as soon as he turned 18, and he moved to the city, earning himself a fresh start. He found himself using video games as an escape from all of the stress moving and finding a job created, and in one of the online forums for his favorite video game, he found you. You two had more in common than anyone he had ever met when it came to all of the cutesy things he liked, even if his interests and hobbies were less than innocent.

There was only one thing that you didn’t know about Hideki, and that was regarding the fact that he wasn’t actually a girl. When you two met, he introduced himself as a girl, knowing that if he pretended to be someone that was the same sex as you, you would probably feel more comfortable opening up to him and wanting to become friends. He wanted to tell you the truth, he really did, but the more he thought about it, the more he found himself wanting to keep the lie going. You trusted him. You liked talking to him.

And somewhere along the way, he found that he loved talking to you. He wanted to be your online girlfriend - boyfriend? It didn’t really matter. He just wanted to be able to know everything about you. He had even decorated his room in nothing but girlish decorations, painting his walls pink, buying a pink rug, pink bed sheets, fluffy pillows…he had crafted the perfect online persona.

Of course, his perfectly crafted identity made you want to get to know him better, which was why he had to download a voice changer and learn how to do makeup on himself so that he could look more girly. He’d already started growing out his hair, and his cherub face helped. If you found out that he didn’t sound like the cute girl you thought he was, what would you do? Block him? He could make hundreds, if not thousands of other accounts to follow you from, but he didn’t want to have to do that.
