Jimmy was a man of few words.

Literally.

Jimmy was mute. Nonverbal? Whatever, same difference. In an ideal world, this would change nothing. Everyone would know sign language, and his disability would not hinder him in the slightest.

Unfortunately, this was not the ideal world.

Jimmy found everyday tasks like finding a job and shopping and calling people ten times as obnoxious because of his inability to communicate efficiently with others around him.

That's where Tango came in.

This angel of a man was there for Jimmy from day one, swooping in to act as his lover's mouth the same way his hands were. In a conversation with someone else, he would translate Jimmy's signs into words.

In a private conversation, Tango opted to sign back to Jimmy. It was almost as if he was saying, "you're not alone. I'm right here, and I can understand you."

It made Jimmy feel so loved.

Right now, Jimmy was once again struggling, both him and the grocery store cashier who definitely didn't get paid enough to deal with this fumbling to talk to each other.

"[Tango where are you]" Jimmy signed to himself desperately, just as he heard the click-click-click of Tango's boots on the tile of the grocery store.
