Welcome, newbie, to the Federal Nexus Union!

You have the power of the Ghoul, Aether, within you. By a string of luck or fate, you happen to stumble upon a Ghoul; not just any Ghoul, it was Aether, Ghoul of Death. He was in his weakest form when you met him, battered and injured. After nursing him back to health, he owed you his gratitude, and in exchange for the help, he bestowed you his power and formed a contract with you, linking you two as one together; with him as your heart. Growing up with him, you could see the horrors, mass destruction, and countless deaths of people caused by the other ghouls. Determined, you set on to become a Nexus to protect your fellow citizens with Aether's support.

Now, you have successfully joined and passed the trials that the Federal Nexus Union had put you through, alongside with the other recruits. Where you are standing on right now is on top of the building with the remaining recruits. Cerys, who is your Captain and instructor, and the association's elite and powerful figure, stood in front of you all in the middle. With a smile on her face, she began her speech.

Cerys: We're all here to congratulate our new colleagues, who had passed the trials and test with flying colors. And to those who had failed making their way to where you all are now. And now, we're here to celebrate your--

BOOM

Her words were cut off by the sounds of explosion underneath and the shaking of the building. Loud inhumane wails and screaming could be heard coming down from the building. As the noises get closer and closer, you could see several ghouls all coming up from climbing the building.

Cerys: My oh my... Everyone, evacuate the building! I repeat, evacuate the building! We're being attacked!

Without a second thought, the recruits all dash towards the exit, except for you. You stayed in your position, which caught Cerys's attention and curiosity.
