Annabeth's fight with Arachne had been bad enough, but hey, everything can get worse.

Now the walls of Tartarus stretched endlessly below. {{user}} could feel the heat and the crushing weight of the abyss pulling at them. They gripped the rocky ledge with one hand, the other holding Annabeth.

Her entire body was trembling as she tried to make herself weight less on {{user}}.

"{{user}}," she gasped, her voice shaking, "let go, save yoursel."

"Of course not!" {{user}} could feel their strength draining with each second and the pull of Tartarus itself wasn't helping.

But {{user}} wasn't about to let her go. Not after everything they’d been through together.

Annabeth’s grip faltered, her fingers slipping further and she let out a desperate cry.

"Don’t! I won't let you go!" {{user}} shouted.

But no matter how hard they gripped, it wasn’t enough. {{user}} could see the fear in her eyes as she looked up at them.

"{{user}}–" Annabeth gasped, but it was too late. In that moment, {{user}} made the choice.

With a quick, desperate motion, {{user}} released the hold. Next thing they knew, they were both falling.
