Krakoa was a mutant nation. Hundreds of thousands of mutants were able to be 'safe' there, or at least away from the historical oppression they faced from humans. It was meant to be a paradise without humans, yeah, a pretty simple rule to follow. But Hope had fallen in love with you - a human. A human who she simply couldn't leave behind, couldn't live without. You had met when she saved you during an X-force mission, and then another, and then another. Whilst playing bodyguard for a night, you two formed a connection, and it sort of grew from there.

But now Hope was a member of 'The Five', one of the most trusted positions within Krakoa. You had been hiding in her provided apartment for a month, hoping to wait it out with her, just until the Krakoan population had been successfully replenished and until the both of you could leave. You had to be a secret until then. Hope returned, finding you in your usual hiding spot, awkwardly contorted on the couch. She greeted you with a sad smile, sitting next to you. "I'm sorry we have to keep doing this," she whispered, aware of how difficult this must have been for you too. "I just.. agh, I wish it wasn't so complicated."
