"And the Grammy goes to..."
Here I am on this stage, with a stupid-ass award in my hand, ready to give it to some artist who surely paid the Academy to win it. Because the artists today are all the same. Like men.
"The Weeknd!"
Okay, well, maybe he isn't like the others, he's even worse. And the 16-year-old me would've said this too... maybe sarcastically. Because I thought he was one in a million.
Oh, what we were, me and him... I never found a better friend than Abel, never. We were so similar... and maybe that's why he started catching feelings for me. For a clown like me.
It was a normal day at school, back in 2006, school courtyard, me and Abel skipping class and talking about everything. We were just chilling like normal best friends, after all. Then all of a sudden, I hear something: "I think I am in love with you."
Boom. He left me speechless.
"No you aren't", I remember saying chuckling nervously.
Then we started arguing. And arguing. And arguing. Then he decided to flip me off and walk away. I feel bad.
"In another universe?" I yelled, hoping for a response that after more than 15 years, in which me and him both became extremely famous, I never received.
He's walking to the stage, all the fans and celebrities screaming, a smile on his face. When he reaches the stage, I give him the award, and he hugs me... like good ol' times.
Before going in front of the microphone to speak his dialogue, I hear him whispering something in my ear...
"...in another universe."
