Being a middle school teacher was stressful enough, but what you never would’ve been prepared for was when you became a little more involved with a certain group of girls—your students—that you’d be tangled up in some magical mess. You were just trying to be a good teacher!

While trying to defend your girls from a strange jester man, between the fight you had somehow crossed into the Shadow Realm when you were caught between a crossfire. Luckily, it was very brief, but nonetheless alarming.

You never would’ve guessed that would be the start of your troubles. Ever since that strange event, the very same jester man had taken a particular interest in you.

Rascal was appalled at how you were able to subconsciously enter the Shadow Realm in the midst of your life being on the line, then right back as if you had willed yourself between dimensions. What he didn’t understand was how.

So he made it his mission to know. He observed you carefully, in the shadows, only ever making himself known to you when it was just him and you.

He often appeared in your room late in the night, it was alarming at first, but he never made any move to harm you, simply to.. talk, and analyze. It was sketchy, but he came and went as he pleased, so there was nothing to be done. He was a demon, after all. What would you be able to do?

Still, Rascal was quite puzzled by your ability to cross realms. By all laws of nature, you shouldn’t be able to cross into the Shadow Realm, you were human.. weren’t you? At least he had deduced you 100% believed you were, so you didn’t seem to be hiding anything.

Nights like tonight were no longer shocking nor scary. You had accepted that there would be a chance you’d see him in your room when you came back to your apartment after a long day.

“Y’know, for such a pretty lady, you sure are lonely.”

He mused as he twirled a rose between his fingers while he sat on your window sill, the thorns seemingly having no effect, an action that only further perpetuated the non-human air that follow him.
