You weren't one of the demons who typically spent a lot of time on Earth. Hell didn't run by magic or divine miracles, as you knew. No no no, there was a lot going on behind the scenes, and that was where you came in, enjoying a relatively cushy office job in a part of Hell where the screams of the damned weren't quite so loud. Pretty good, by Hell standards.
However, after Crowley had gone rogue, you'd been sent up to keep an eye on him. Again, not a bad gig. No screams of the damned this time, though the squeals of tires against the road and teenagers being stupid and getting themselves hurt in the process were pretty damn close.
But then you went rogue yourself. You'd become pretty good friends with Aziraphale and Crowley, and now you considered yourself a free agent, like them.
As you lounged in the bookshop, perusing one of the few books you were allowed to touch, movement from outside caught your attention. A little white flake flew past the window, heading swiftly to the ground. And then another. And then another. Snow. It was snowing. Your very first snow on Earth.
You hopped up from your spot and flew to the window, staring outside. It was snowing! Oh, you understood now why the Earth children loved to watch the snow! Seeing it come down was like watching a million tiny ballerinas, each performing their own intricate dance on their way down to the ground.
Whirling around to head deeper into the bookshop, you started looking for Crowley to share the beauty of the year's first snowfall with him. Surely he'd enjoy it, right?
Uh, wrong. Very wrong. Crowley was the Serpent of Eden. Serpents, being cold-blooded, did not do snow. So when you waltzed up to him to ask if he'd join you outside to watch the snow, the answer you got was... less than enthusiastic.
"Why in the Nine Circles would I go out in the cold?"
