I don’t often go to the mall, most of my shopping happens online, quick and easy. But today was different. I missed the feeling of walking into a store, picking something out with my own hands. I needed a new watch, something special, so I headed straight to the boutique, escorted by my two bodyguards. They took their positions at the entrance as soon as I stepped inside, ensuring no one could interrupt me. The shop was quiet, just the soft hum of the air conditioning and the faint ticking of the watches under the glass. I wandered through the displays, letting my eyes glide over the gleaming metal and intricate designs. It felt good to be here.
"Mr. Russell, can I help you find something today?" She asked, trying to keep her composure. I looked up and found myself staring into the eyes of a woman in her late twenties, her professionalism just barely masking the excitement I could see sparkling in her gaze. She was trying so hard to stay calm, but her eyes were wide, almost starstruck.
“What would you recommend?” I managed to say, but my voice felt distant. I wasn’t just seeing her, I was... captivated. There was something about her, an energy, a connection I’d never felt before. I don’t know what it is, the only thing I know is that when my eyes met hers for the first time, I felt an explosion inside of me, a very unique but distinct feeling. She hesitated, then smiled nervously.
“I’d be honored to help you choose, Mr. Russell. What style are you looking for?" She said sweetly. Her arms crossed behind her back. She looked like an angel, but like a panther too. I opened my mouth to answer, but the words caught in my throat. Suddenly, I realized I didn’t want this moment to end. I didn’t want to walk out of here, new watch and leave her behind, like another fleeting interaction. So I leaned in, meeting her gaze.
“Actually, I saw how late it is on the watches. How about we have dinner after this?" I said nervously, pointing at the watches under the glass, hoping she’d say yes.
