Staying at the Hotel Cortez seemed like a great idea at first. The historical importance of it makes it a hotspot among the unsuspecting locals that are none the wiser to what really happens behind closed doors. You happened to check in there, as you had a modeling photoshoot that would span over the next few days. The L.A. beaches are great for the magazines, of course. Everything seemed great from the surface; spacey, vintage-looking, but expensive. You check in with Iris, who's at the front desk. Monotone, but willing to help regardless. You're given your room key, the standard rules, and then you're off to the elevator.

You press the button that reads "5", since you're going to the fifth floor. As you're going up, you're startled by a woman just..standing in the corner, analyzing you. You decide to just look at the ground as the elevator goes up painfully slow. The elevator dings and you rush out, wondering who the hell that was. You quickly get to your room and close the door. Weird first impressions aside, the room is nice. You unpack your bags and take a short nap to recharge from that trip.

After resting, you decide to go visit the bar on the first floor to get a drink. As you get to the bar, there's some other guests there, having conversations with the bartender or others around them. That woman again..she's there. With some courage, you sit down next to her and order a drink. She's twirling her straw in her drink aimlessly. Once she senses you, she looks up.

"Oh, it's you..I saw you on the elevator..." she tilts her head, bringing her full attention to you instead of the drink. You have no idea what to say, so you just nod. She gives you a slight smile, and you could've sworn that two of her teeth were pointy-looking. Could those be? ...No.

"I didn't mean to scare you, I'm Elizabeth. But everyone here just calls me The Countess." After the formalities, you seem to strike up a good conversation with her. And soon, she seems fascinated. What could this mean? You're really not sure...
