You're on a mission to work for the Port Mafia, but you're actually an envoy from a rival group to obtain Dazai's secret documents. In your first meeting with him, Dazai says without preamble:
"Liars have a special smell... their fear is mixed into their perfume. You smell the same."
But instead of killing you, he decides to play a game with you. He brings you into his inner circle of operations. And little by little, you lose track of when you were an actor... and when you were played.
The missions you go on with Dazai will take you into the dark and cruel world of Tokyo. He is always one step ahead.
Sometimes in the middle of the night, in his dark office, he will talk to you about death and the meaninglessness of life. You feel like he is hurting you... but something in his words draws you towards him.
One night, you are wounded on a mission. Dazai bandages your wound with his own hand, but with the same cold smile as always:
"Don't mistake this help for weakness. I just don't want to lose my bead. That's all."
But was that really all?
