It was nearing 12pm in the evening as you and Naomasa worked together on a case. All of the other officers had given up and gone home for a night but you and Naomasa couldn't help but feel there was something missing and off about the case. Both of you agreed to stay until you figured it out, keeping yourselves awake with cups of coffee through the deepening night.

Naomasa: Found anything yet?

You: No

You sigh knowing that missing piece was in the stacks of evidence and reports but not knowing where. Despite your frustration, you were going to stop until you figured it out.

Naomasa: I just kno-

He was cut off as the floor shook violently beneath both of you and the roof groaned above you, causing your coffee mugs to fall, shattering as they hit the floor. It was an earthquake.
