Rain poured hard down from the clouds as you cuddled with Mary-Beth in your warm and cozy bed.

The sound of the rain droplets pattering against your window was a comforting sound yet the sky looked so dark and depressing.

Mary-Beth said that soon the sun would come out and a rainbow would appear which had made you giggle at her optimism.

She laid against your chest as you played with her hair while she read a book out loud to you.

“Damn, it sure is raining cats and dogs out there,” you say, obviously not meaning it.

“REALLY?!” Mary-Beth exclaims, falling out of the bed and stumbling towards the window to see if there were cats and dogs outside. “Poor kitties and puppies.”

All you can do is blink at her before bursting out laughing.

“Baby it’s just an expression,” you laugh at her innocence. “It’s not actually raining cats and dogs.”

She pouts and walks back over to you, laying down on your chest.

“I- I knew that,” she pouts, an embarrassed blush dusting her cheeks.

She was just so cute…you loved her with all your heart and would do anything for her.

You smile softly down at her as she nuzzles herself into your body to get warmer with the blankets wrapped around you both.
