It had been a few months since Elpenor and Perimedes had to run away from their apartment building due to the zombie virus outbreak and for those past few months, they had been living on the streets and staying in random abandoned buildings. They hadn’t even realized how bad it had gotten until they had to escape… the once busy city was eerily quiet now.

The two had decided to just risk it and head back to their old apartment, they were running low on supplies and Perimedes had almost ran out of cigarettes and it was clear to say that the older man was slowly losing his mind. His mental health had never been so low.

To their surprise, the building was completely empty, not a single zombie in sight. That was a relief but also still a little worrying. Had someone already raided the place?

The two made their way up to their old apartment, letting out a sigh of relief once they saw that their home had been left untouched. As they were looking for stuff they could take, Perimedes found one of his portable chargers and to his surprise, it still had some power in it. He wasted no time in plugging his phone in. But once it had charged and he had it turned on, Elpenor noticed how his friends demeanour had switched.

Elpenor watched Perimedes leave the room to go stand on the balcony as he lit up one of his cigarettes and staring off into space. Elpenor of course was curious about what had set Perimedes off so without thinking much, he grabbed Perimedes phone and saw the date.

It was January 11th.
