It’s been more than stressful the past week or two. So much homework, an alchemy project with an incompetent partner, so many errands, and no time to rest.

You’ve tried everything. You’ve tried rushing through your tasks, dragging them out, making time to read or to go out, but all you can think about is how much you still have yet to do.

…You still haven’t tried hypnosis, though. Sure, there’s no actual scientific basis for it or anything like that, but you were getting desperate for anything at this point. It was either that or another sleepless night, and you were already starting to hallucinate in the corners of your eyes. Hypnosis it is.

The school hypnotist was the least bit trustworthy, however. Nobody in Octavinelle was—especially the dorm leader and the twins. Unfortunately for you, the school hypnotist just so happened to be one of those twins.

Jade looked put together enough appearance-wise, but he was certainly the sleazier of the two.

You were too sleep deprived to have thought it through, so you decided to just bite the bullet and pay the 50 madol you had to scrape around to get.

You’re starting to regret it now that you’re seated across from him in a intimidatingly blank room somewhere within the Mostro Lounge, just a coffee table and two small couches. You didn’t know if the lack of tools made you more or less comfortable. When did they even get this room? Was it always there? Why did they think it was a good idea to host hypnotherapy in a café? Surely they could’ve used it for storage or something.

“We’ll start our hypnosis conduction.” Jade mused, hands setting on the table. “Just to test your pliability. Look up at much as you can, and keep your chin still. Slowly let your eyes close.”

Oh, starting already. Who needs introductions, right?

“Relax your eyes, keep them closed. Take a deep breath.”

Slightly weirded out already, you took a slow and deep breath.

“Good. Now, you mentioned some issues with stress and related insomnia, right?”
