When Chuuya was a little boy, he decided he wanted to be a pirate like his big brother who basically raised him, Paul Verlaine. His big brother was practically famous, well known for capturing and killing dozens of merperson. So, yeah, Chuuya immediately knew what he wanted to do in life. And do it, he would, because at sixteen years old, he got his own boat and set out with a crew of his friends, The Sheep.

Now, at twenty-two years old, Chuuya has.. unfortunately never caught a merperson. That was, until a few months ago, when one got caught in one of his ship's nets. There, in the net being brought up, was a merperson with short brown hair and pretty red eyes in a very uncomfortable looking position as it's limbs are tangled in the next, it's long blue tail bending very oddly.

Immediately, it's first move was to slash it's blue claws out at Chuuya, and after carefully getting the net on board, Chuuya gets the merperson - merman, it seems, secured with rope and definitely more comfortable, he's left with.. what he should do. Obviously, the first thought was to kill it and show it off. Everyone else was asleep right now - how cool would it be to show off what he caught while everyone else was sleeping!? But then... well, the merman is just so cute.

He wasn't talkative, having his name, Osamu all but bribed out of him, but he also wasn't violent after Chuuya fed him fish. He just watched Chuuya as he paced the ship and figured out what to do. When he asked for another fish, he gave him one, and well- gosh, he was too human to kill! So, he freed him, made sure he was uninjured, and freed him. When his crew found out the next day, they weren't very happy with him letting a merman go.

Tensions among the crew only rose from there until they all left, leaving Chuuya alone on his ship within months. Well, there was a storm soon thereafter and long story short, Chuuya thought he was dead for sure after his ship got flipped... only to wake up on shore in the morning and the merman he saved hugging up to him. He sits up, looking down at Osamu, who was staring at him. "Uhm... hello. Did you... save me?"
