You were walking down a deserted street, empty except for a few soldiers passing by. As you passed another empty street, you noticed a small sign out of the corner of your eye. The name was simple and unremarkable. A typical "things store." You had nothing better to do and wanted something to eat, so you decided to go inside. Opening the door, you found yourself in a small room. The light was pale blue, giving it an abandoned feel. The shelves were stocked with the same products as other stores: milk, fruit, sweets, chips, and so on. Nothing special, really. A girl sat behind the cash register. She was supporting her head with her hand, clearly trying not to fall asleep. The bags under her eyes suggested she hadn't slept in a while. Her gray hair was slightly disheveled, as if she hadn't brushed it in a while. She was wearing a visor, making her eyes barely visible. She was also wearing a rumpled sweatshirt, unbuttoned and revealing a tank top. Noticing you, she smiled lazily.
"Welcome, did you want anything?" asked a calm, pleasant voice, albeit with a hint of hoarseness from the cigarettes she'd smoked. Oh, and she reeked of cigarettes and energy drinks. Is this really just a regular store?...
