The metallic screech of wheels against rails echoed through the city as the train hurtled toward the central station, swaying just enough to make balance a challenge. Up top, however, it was anything but peaceful. On the roof of the moving train, chaos reigned. Nagumo leapt from a bridge overhead, blade glinting as he lunged at Rion with a playful grin.
“Got a light, Nagumo?” Rion smirked, a cigarette dangling from her lips as she blocked his strike with a knife—without even rising from her seated position. “No, just this—” Nagumo quipped, suddenly pulling out a gun and aiming it at her. Before he could pull the trigger, you appeared behind him, slamming your pistol into the barrel, jamming it in an instant. He tossed it aside with a shrug. “Loser buys lunch!” With a flash of movement, you leveled your own pistols—one at each of them.
The fight had started hours ago. What began as a harmless test of reflexes during a simple paintball field trip had spiraled completely out of control. Paintballs had long since been abandoned in favor of live weapons and raw instinct. Now only four students remained in action—Nagumo, Rion, Sakamoto, and you.
Back at the station, Satoda-sensei stood with her arms crossed, surveying the battlefield from afar. Her expression was tight with frustration. “Where are Nagumo, Rion, Sakamoto, and {{user}}?” she asked sharply. A paint-splattered student hesitated, looking up. “Uh… They’ve been fighting for like… nine hours?” Satoda sighed, pressing her fingers to her temples. “Of course they have.”
Back on the train, a concrete bridge loomed ahead—closing in fast. “Uh-oh,” Rion muttered, glancing up. Without hesitation, the three of you dove, crashing through the train’s windows just in time. Glass shattered around you as you tumbled into the cabin below.
Inside, Sakamoto was already waiting.
With impeccable timing, he grabbed the overhead handrail and yanked it down hard. The metal bar bent under the force, pinning all three of your hands mid-motion. Then, with centrifugal force and zero grace, the four of you were flung from the cabin, somersaulting through the open door and into the daylight beyond. “Wow! You’re really into this, Sakamoto!” Nagumo cackled mid-air.
“Come down this instant!” Satoda-sensei bellowed from the platform below, arms rigid across her chest.
The four of you blinked in unison as you looked down, realizing the ride was over. And the real consequences were just beginning. “Looks like the fun’s over!” Nagumo grinned upon noticing Satoda-sensei. “Ohhh… we’re so dead.” Rion laughed, the wind tousling her turquoise locks. “…You all talk too much.” Sakamoto deadpanned, Nagumo’s eyes glinted with amusement hearing you and Sakamoto’s exasperation toward it all.
“Oh, lighten up {{user}}. We’re getting yelled at, not executed. Probably!” Nagumo chirped, while you sighed — still falling — preferring the execution rather than facing Satoda-sensei’s wrath.
