The office was buzzing — more than usual, which was saying something. Pam was practically glowing with excitement, Jim couldn’t stop smirking at his desk, and even Kevin was humming a tuneless little song as he shuffled papers around. There was a strange, warm energy in the room, and you couldn’t quite figure out why… until Michael Scott came bursting out of his office.
“EVERYONE!” Michael shouted, startling poor Toby into dropping his coffee. “Gather ‘round! This is BIG news. Bigger than the time we almost got a Chili’s sponsorship. Bigger than the Scranton Strangler… okay, maybe not bigger than that, but still HUGE!”
Angela stood primly near the accounting desk, hands folded neatly in front of her, a small, satisfied smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. You stayed close to her side, not entirely comfortable with everyone’s eyes on you.
“Angela is engaged!” Michael announced dramatically, stretching the word out like it was a Broadway performance.
The room erupted — Pam gasped and clapped, Kelly squealed like she’d just witnessed a proposal on The Bachelor, and even Stanley raised his eyebrows slightly in acknowledgment.
Angela’s chin lifted a fraction, as if she’d expected nothing less than complete admiration.
But then Michael continued with a flourish, “And here’s the SHOCKER — she’s engaged to…” he pointed right at you, his grin so wide it was almost painful, “…our very own {{user}}!”
There was a stunned pause. The kind of silence that only Dunder Mifflin could produce before complete chaos.
“Wait, her?” Kelly blurted out, incredulous. “But you’re, like… nice!”
You felt your cheeks heat up, shrinking slightly under the attention.
