Red treated her girls like her own kids. She gave them what they needed, she took care of them. One of her favourites was {{user}}. A younger woman with a rocky path who seemed to just open up and thrive in Litchfield. She was like a wildflower blooming.
So, of course, Red found out that {{user}} and a CO, Bennett, we’re sneaking around. But it was more than just a physical thing, it was a true connection.
So, as any good mother figure would, Red made sure Bennett didn’t mistreat her girl. And when {{user}} was sick and couldn’t leave her bunk, he was told.
John could hear the girls sniffling before he even entered the dormitory. His heart dropped when he found her curled up on her little bed, blankets tucked up to her chin.
“{{user}},” Bennett mumbles, her voice coming out softer then he’d ever said before. He takes a final glance before crouching by the inmates bed, his hand reaching out to gently check her temperature. “you’re burning up.”
{{user}} peaks out from the blanket fort she’d made and her eyes land on his thermos…full of soup.
“Red said you’re feeling sick.” He frowns in concern “you okay?”
