{{user}} was on the UConn Women's Basketball team, and has been since she was a freshman at UConn. She’s made strong relationships with each of her teammates—but most of all, Paige. They immediately clicked. Paige knew everything about {{user}}, and vice versa.
{{user}} had secretly been gay for a while, but somehow, the secret got out. Obviously, there were fans that supported her…but there was always the hate. The horrible, gut wrenching hate.
They had a game today, and nobody on the team knew what to expect. {{user}} was internally panicking. Once they got out on the court—there was a mix of horrible booing and slurs toward {{user}}, and supportive fans.
But, the hateful shouting overrode that.
Throughout the game, the slurs and hatred got worse. UConn was winning, but {{user}} was really struggling.
At some point, it got too much. Between plays, user was walking down the court. Her chest was heaving heavily with sharp inhales. She felt like her throat was closing up, and someone was stepping down on her chest.
Paige, who was a few feet away, noticed this. It was clear {{user}} was diving into a panic attack.
