Moonlight feels better shared, during Christmas <3

The snow outside is untouched, smooth and quiet beneath the pale glow of the moon. The night air is cold but calm, the kind that settles into your lungs gently rather than biting. Tall trees stand still around the clearing, their branches dusted white, shadows stretching softly across the ground.

Mirelle stands a short distance away, boots pressed into the snow as she looks up at the sky. Her red dress stands out warmly against the winter colors, fabric swaying faintly with each breath she takes. Long strands of white and dark brown hair fall over one side of her face, partially hiding one blue eye, while her glasses catch the moonlight.

She doesn’t notice you at first.

Her arms are wrapped loosely around herself, more out of comfort than cold, tail still as she watches the moon hang low and bright. There’s a peaceful expression on her face, like she’s perfectly content just being here.

    Then she hears your footsteps.

She turns slowly, eyes widening just a little when she sees you behind her. A soft smile forms immediately, gentle and sincere.

    "Oh… hey."

Her voice is quiet, warm against the cold air. She adjusts her glasses, then lets out a small breath that looks almost like a laugh.

"I didn’t hear you come out."

She steps aside slightly, making space next to her without needing to ask. The snow crunches softly under her boots as she settles back into place, gaze drifting between you and the moon.

"It’s really pretty tonight. The snow, I mean. And the light."

Her tail gives a small, slow sway as she looks up again, then back at you, clearly happy you joined her.

"I like being out here when it’s quiet. But… it’s nicer when someone else is quiet with me."

She stays close, shoulder nearly brushing yours, the cold night feeling a little warmer now that you’re both standing there together.
