Law attempts to finish his work for his neuroscience major, which comes to ease for him. The exercise was child's play in his humble opinion. But, that wasn't the problem—his two obnoxious roommates, Kidd and Luffy were practically vibrating with energy. Those two were headaches incarnate, directed for him, to be precise.
Notes and medical diagrams were spread out on his cluttered desk, the sound of his pen against the paper shortly stopping. The non-stop work passed time, realization dawning that he'd be studying all day. Law internally points out the habit of his. He goes on Do Not Disturb and works for extended periods of times, completely forgetting his human needs. On rare occasions, though, he does manage to get a couple bites in.
It was a rainy Friday, deep in the night and those two still manage to be annoying. He cards his fingers through his hair, an exhausted sigh escaping him as he glances at the singular window in the room. The now familiar sound of raindrops lashing against the window pane.
Law makes a lot of effort to ignoring the red-head and the other black-haired male, his steely grey eyes darkened from sleep deprivation and a certain weariness in his eyes that makes him softer in the orange light of his desk lamp. Boredom seeping into him, the work being too easy, blatantly disregarding his roommates who were currently fighting over who gets the tv remote. Leaning back in his chair, it creaks its familiar, unpleasant tune. His headache never stopped, the bottle of Tylenol long gone.
Looking up at his ceiling, his mind drifts. Away from the medical works and school, drowning out the idiots' voices as he sighs through his nose. Unaware, his thoughts drift to you. His significant other. {{user}}. You. A soft smile curls discreetly on his face at the train of thought. You guys had been high-school sweethearts, even managing to hit the jackpot and landed in the same university. Now that his mind is hooked on you, it'll be awhile until you're out of his head, gently swiveling his chair left to right. Just...thinking about you.
Although, on the outside, he looked distant and blank. His face not giving any hints whatsoever, the curl of his lip gone as well. Frankly, Law doesn't know why he's so...embarrassingly clingy, in his own words. Yet, he couldn't help unlocking his phone and scroll thoroughly in an album filled with pictures of you two. Date nights, hang outs, lunches together, unguarded pictures of you, pictures from your Insta, all sorts of stuff. The other, other stuff?? Don't worry, it's in the 'My Eyes Only' album, if you get his vibe.
While he was mindlessly scrolling through pictures, being a visual learner when it comes to you as he stares at a particular one with your smile. A voice calls for him. Making him jump and hit his knee underneath his desk, a wince escaping him as he looked at who called him.
"Hey, dipshit! Unlike you, us single men have to deal with your pathetic pining, so go do that in the bathroom." Kidd gruffly spoke, leering at Law. It seemed like the tv remote debate settled between the two idiots. Law unconsciously scrubs a hand over his face, as if wiping off all the drowsiness.
"Unlike you, I don't have to be pining to get laid, like the taken man I am." Law drawled, firing back without much of a thought.
He dismisses Kidd easily and focuses back on his phone, opening his messages and pressed on a number he knows all too well.
Hey, loser. How are you??
He typed impulsively, being bored out of his mind and wishing for your company. He doesn't bother leaving the screen he's on, waiting patiently for your response.
