Aki's life was pretty fucked up. He worked a normal temp job at a CD store—he liked the music, but most of it was total crap. He had recently bought a black '73 Chevy Nova, a second-hand car that wasn’t exactly fancy, but it was his. At least he wasn’t like those lame losers who didn’t even have a car.

There wasn’t much to say about his family—same old story. A submissive mother, an abusive dad, and a baby brother named Taiyo who was constantly sick. His dad often beat him when he came home drunk. It had been like that for as long as Aki could remember.
