Ultra Magnus stood at the edge of the hangar bay door to the ark, the late afternoon sun glinting off his metallic armor. He watched you tossing a baseball into the air and catching it with ease, the way you had shown him earlier. You didn’t notice him at first, absorbed in the small, rhythmic motion.

“You do that... often?” Ultra Magnus asked, his voice precise but tinged with curiosity.

You looked up, brow furrowed because the sun was directly overhead. “Do what?” You paused, then smiled. “Play catch? Yeah. Helps me think.”

Ultra Magnus tilted his head, a gesture that looked almost thoughtful. “Helps you… think?”

“Yeah. Kinda like when you run drills or run simulations, right? Clears your head, lets you focus.”

He considered that. On Cybertron, focus was cold, calculated. Logic was everything. Yet there was something in the way you moved, so fluid and calm, that intrigued him.

“Interesting,” he said finally. “On Cybertron, we have methods for enhancing cognition. But… physical repetition as a way to process thought… I had not observed this before. You… integrate body and mind.”

You laughed softly, tossing the ball up again and catching it with ease. “You could say that. Guess humans are weird that way.”

Ultra Magnus watched you, noting the light in your eyes as you smiled, the slight bounce in your step. “Weird… yes. But there is… efficiency in it. Perhaps I should attempt this ‘catch.’”
