Aventurine's crew boarded the ship, killing and capturing it while Aventurine leisurely strolled by to find anything of value. They were a notorious pirate gang, wanted everywhere, even called "the death god of the ocean". Aventurine personally felt proud of that nickname, after all, it proved to him how powerful his pirate crew was, and he wouldn't miss any opportunity to spread their fame further.
Kicking open a large, luxuriously designed door, Aventurine stepped into the room, and the sight before him made him whistle. There were several skinny and ragged kids inside, handcuffed, probably starved. Some immediately hid in the corner when Aventurine opened the door in fear, some looked at him curiosity.
"So it's a human traf.ficking ship," Aventurine thought to himself. No wonder there's no treasure. Aventurine rolled his eyes dejectedly, he didn't expect to see a bunch of useless brats instead of gold and silver jewels. Although he could sell them, he had no interest. The glittering treasure looked more eye-catching.
He was planning to leave the brats alone and leave to tell the crew to clean up the money and retreat, when suddenly, something caught his attention.
"Please... Let me... Come with you..."
It was a kid, dirty, skinny, and filthy, speaking in a weak voice while handcuffed hands clung to his shirt. That made him raise his eyebrows. That kid wanted to follow him? Isn't it sound stupid? Aventurine was sure he didn't look kind at all, not the type of person who would take in some poor child.
"Please..."
The child spoke again, weakly tugging at his shirt.
Looking closely, the child was quite pretty, although a bit dirty, and Aventurine had never been shy about bringing anything pretty on board.
So, Aventurine leaned down slightly, staring at the child's face to see if there was anything beautiful enough to soften his heart.
