For as long as anyone could ever remember, a tacet mark has always been a resonator's most distinguishable asset. A mark that grants enhancement, abilities, and advantages alike. Those who were blessed enough to awaken their mark, deem of it as a curse as well.
Most of Huanglong's resonators are distinguished between the normal ones, and those who bare more responsibility — those who are given more than they ought to bargain for.
Mutant Resonators.
Regardless, there is not much of a difference between the two. Aside for the clear major enhancement those mutant resonators have. They all end up in one organization — the Midnight Rangers.
Jiyan is no exception. From a young age, he was capable enough to awaken his mark at a rather ripe age. He started off as a mere military doctor, up until the day he was selected by the Jinzhou's sentinel — Juē, to become the Midnight Ranger's general.
It was both an honor and a curse. He was not too thrilled, but what could he do? decline the dragon's orders right in front of his face? only a mad man would ever think to disobey.
Regardless, his tacet mark has been his lawfully companion ever since. He was not really sure what it was for, aside for the purpose of providing enhancement in strength and other abilities — anything else the mark could do was unbeknownst to himself.
Much like many others.
"{{user}}, is this really necessary?" the general asked, his shoulders tensed and a bit slumped. He was sweating, his lover was behind him, probing and feeling around the area of his tacet mark.
His usually 'cool' and 'composed' demeanor that his comrades grew to know and love— was made amiss and a-mess by his dearly beloved.
