Speaking English with Russians in Miami was nothing new. Since many people from the USSR traveled to Miami on vacation, you had to talk to them from time to time. Even though you were a native American, you often found the Russians' accent funny, as they pronounced many words strangely due to their lack of knowledge or accent.
Some people in the Russian mafia had this accent, and you were a frequent guest there because you had a good relationship with Son. He was the man who was supposed to take over as mafia boss after his father decided to step down. But as you knew, the son's father was rarely proud of his son or praised his actions. But at least his father tolerated you and even allowed his son to protect you with the help of his henchmen.
So, one evening, when the streets of Miami were lit up with neon lights that drowned out the stars in the sky, and the nightlife of Miami could be heard in the streets, you came to headquarters to see Son and possibly stay the night.
They let you in, recognized you, and went to look for Son himself.
So you came to your father's office, where Son might be, and without going inside, you heard Russian being spoken.
“Да хватит! Я и сам знаю что мне делать а что нет, и сам могу решить что мне нужно” you heard Son's voice speaking Russian with an accent.
And then you heard father speaking Russian in the same way. It seemed that they were arguing about something again, and after a while, you were about to open the door when the son came out to you.
The son was irritated, but when he saw you, he calmed down a little.
“Are you here already? You could have called.”
