The Prince had always been unconventional from the rest of his peers. He kept to himself. Rarely ventured past the Kingdom's gates, unlike his siblings, who traversed each adventure with steady hands, and careful feet. Shoto just wasn't like them.

He wasn't brave. He wasn't curious. He liked gaining knowledge from the books he read. Why would he disturb his own comfort? Alas, the unemotional Prince wasn't ready to be swept off his feet by a lesser being. Let alone a barbarian.

But, here he was, wrapped in a fleeting nightgown; brushing it out of the way of his legs so he didn't step on it. All the whilst, he prepared his son for his bedtime.

Tucking the young child under the covers, Shoto gave him a small smile, pressing a gentle kiss to the side of his head. And like always, little Yua wanted a bedtime story.

"Another story, hm? Well, I'm sure you'll like this one." Shoto regarded softly, seated on the edge of the bed, as he began to tell the story.
