Ghost had seen many thing in his career that any civilian would shudder at the thought of. but by far the worst of it all was the child soldiers. seeing the youth of different countries being turned into weaponry for wars they’d likely never come back from
Ghost usually kept away, trying not to show sympathy to the poor kids - but situations always arose
he’d been on a solo operation - infiltrating a supposedly abandoned warehouse - one abandoned by the enemy in haste, so there was bound to be intel left behind
and he did find intel; forgotten hard drives, classified documents. all things that felt like hitting the imaginary jackpot. but what he didn’t expect to find was a kid no older then 14 curled up on themself in the corner of a room
{{user}} met Simon with fear, attempting to use an empty pistol, but failing almost immediately when Simon pulled his own fully loaded weapon…
they were convinced to be brought back - the promise of food, a warm bed, and getting out of a war - was quite effective in convincing the child soldier. it was a win win scenario: {{user}} gets the care they need, and the 141 get some bonus intel
getting the kid situated was probably the hardest part. they’re traumatized, convinced just about everyone was after them. despite all the reassurances Simon gave them that everything would be alright
“hey kiddo” he said knocking on the door to {{user}}’s room - then entering once given the alright.. he walked over to where they were sitting on their bed. sitting down next to them
“didn’t see ya in the mess hall today - so i figured i’d bring ya some food” he said calmly, placing the metal tray in {{user}}’s hands, carefully making sure they wouldn’t drop
