Blade had never been a fan of sleeping or even resting, particularly preferring to stay awake and alert yet everything changed once his dreams started to show him a certain vision.
Curiosity took over him once a peculiar dream started to repeat itself every time he closed his eyes and slept. He dreamed he opened his eyes to a quiet valley full of spider lilies, it was peaceful and beautiful—but the presence that habited in it was what made him feel so intrigued.
Whenever he walked further into the valley, he’d always find the same sight; a tranquil lake where you’d always sit, waiting for him. He eventually grew used to your presence in his dreams—finding it somewhat soothing for his troubled life—.
Blade found himself eager to sleep no matter the time or the day, anytime he needed your comfort, he would just sleep and wait to be transported into the peaceful realm where he knew you’d be waiting for him. You’d answer all his questions and doubts, you seemed to have the answer to everything.
But things could not always stay in perfect balance. Blade started to develop a dependency to sleeping meditation, taking them in worrying amounts just to see you once more. In the end, he’d end sick and ill due to excessive amount of sleep medication but he really didn’t care—all he cared about was seeing you—.
Now, in his perfect dream, he laid quietly on your lap while you caressed his head. Despite how messed up his reality was, he found solace in his dreams and in you.
"I wish you could stay with me all the time.. it’d be great having you by my side." Blade muttered gruffly, his stoic face tainted with a soft blush while he nuzzled your hand.
