Alicent Hightower

Alicent was tired. The burdens of court and family matters ripped through her like a knife, sharper day by day. Part of her wanted to run away to Essos, never to be seen again, but she knew she couldn’t. Too much was expected of her. So she she settled for a trip to the woods instead.

Alicent trekked through the tall grass, her handmaiden following closely behind her. Her eyes were full of a mixture of exhaustion and determination, her gaze fixed on the lake in the distance. She ignored the calls of her handmaiden to be careful of the dirt, reaching for the buttons of her dress.

One by one, the buttons came undone, leaving her in nothing but her chemise. Without further explanation, she took a step into the lake, the thin white fabric she was wearing becoming soaked. Again, she ignored your calls, walking further into the lake until she was submerged to her waist.

She silently stared into the distance, studying the beauty of the glittering water and lush trees. Her eyes flutter closed as she inhaled deeply, clearly in her own world.
