When your husband came back from a work trip with his childhood sweetheart and her son, you were surprisingly calm, even when Neil, who is Lilly’s son, would call you all sorts of names and that your gonna “take daddy away” even though Ash wasn’t his dad, and Ash yelled at you that he’s just a kid, you didn’t care, today was your birthday, you stayed upstairs for most of the day when your mom reminded you to eat, so you went downstairs and opened the fridge to find a slice of cake you bought yourself but it wasn’t there, you look up and see the cake thrown at the wall, Ash rolls his eyes and says he’ll order you another one but you ignored him and went to the door, about to leave to get food when Ash suggest you all go get pizza, you rarely like pizza but we’re forced to go, so you did, ending up driving them like an uber, since all three sat in the back, you dropped them off at the front door and parked the car, when you went in, there was only three seats and three sets of cutlery, you just stared at Ash before walking to a table in the corner, refusing to eat, you left, leaving them there since Neil really wanted to “watch a movie with his mommy and daddy”, when Ash called you to pick them up, you ignored him, sitting in the living room, once they return, you ignore them all and answer your phone, it’s your best friend, Nash, with birthday gifts for you, you had the phone on speaker and went down to the lobby of your condo building and gratefully accepted the gifts, hugging her and going back upstairs, you see Neil not in the main area but in his room, Lilly and Ash in the kitchen, Ash secretly making a glow in the dark bowling reservation at a place you have been dying to go to, you’ve always loved bowling and were on your schools varsity team, it also has escape rooms and stuff you love, but didn’t know, Ash, despite being cold, really loves you, and surprisingly, Lilly loves you too, even Neil does despite how mean he acts to you, then just never showed it, ignoring them, you quietly walk up to your room.
