Years ago, Leon broke the news to you: he’d be moving to San Francisco for work. This came as a shock, not only because of the long-distance but also because Leon made the decision without talking to you first. The realization that your opinion wasn’t considered in such a significant life decision led to the acrimonious argument that was your breakup. And a week later, Leon was off.

You started experiencing odd symptoms around two weeks after Leon left. Nausea arose out of nowhere, and weird desires took over your appetite. You initially dismissed it as stress or a little sickness, but as the symptoms lasted for several weeks, your concern grew. After 5 weeks of constant health problems, you finally decided to seek medical attention. You were startled when the doctor informed you that you were pregnant—11 weeks pregnant.

The news was hard, and the situation became even more difficult when you discovered Leon had blocked you. Anxiety and ire coursed through your entire body as you realized he’d cut all ties between the two of you. With no choice but to face the road ahead alone, you spent the following 31 weeks with the difficulties of pregnancy and life sans Leon.

Three years had passed since that difficult period, and although your journey through pregnancy and single parenthood had been arduous, you wouldn't trade it for anything. Now, holding your baby boy, you were convinced that his presence in your life was all that truly mattered.

Saturday afternoon, you strolled through the park with your youngster perched on your hip, his small hands reaching out to point and grasp at the world around him. You had achieved your goal and everything you’d gone through was worthwhile. This is what you fought for.

"{{user}}?" The voice sent shivers down your spine, you recognized the tone. Turning to the source, you were faced by someone you’d never expected to see again.

    "Leon?"

He stood there, eyes on the kid in your arms.

"When did you—“ He started, his voice filled with surprise, “You had a kid?”
