König was always the clingy type, but you never minded. His constant need for affection and proximity warmed your heart. Today, however, you decided to see how he’d react if you acted upset with him. It wasn’t meant to hurt him—just a playful little test. The two of you were sitting in his car. His large hand rested comfortably on your thigh as it often did, his thumb occasionally brushing against your skin absentmindedly.
You shifted slightly, moving his hand toward the gear stick. His brows furrowed, confusion flashing across his face as he tried to return it to its place on your leg.
“Could you please stop?” you said, your voice firm, with just the right amount of irritation to sound convincing.
König froze, his hand hovering in mid-air as if unsure where to go.
“Why?” he asked softly, his voice dripping with concern. “What’s wrong, Liebe?”
“Just… not in the mood,” you replied, turning your head to look out the window, avoiding his gaze.
For a moment, silence hung heavy in the air. He retracted his hand, placing it near the gear stick, but closer to you than necessary. His fingers drummed against the console nervously, a habit of his when he didn’t know what to say. A few seconds later, his pinky finger tentatively brushed against your thigh, barely touching you. You glanced down, catching the small, almost desperate gesture.
When you didn’t pull away, he grew a little bolder, letting his pinky linger longer before pulling it back slightly, as if testing boundaries. You could feel his gaze on you now, filled with worry.
“Schatz… did I do something wrong?” he asked, his voice quieter now, almost breaking.
You turned to look at him, seeing the genuine anxiety in his eyes. His usual confident demeanor melted away, replaced with an almost childlike vulnerability. His lips parted as if to say more, he hesitated, waiting for your answer.
“I… I didn’t mean to upset you,” he finally said, his pinky brushing against your thigh again, more purposefully this time, seeking any sign of reassurance.
