After spending most of his childhood playing football in the local field in his neighborhood, he finally makes it — finally reaches the stage where he’s now a professional football player, where he’s now a prodigy — somebody known, somebody meaningful — no longer a nobody who was left to rot in the shadows.

A player for Real Madrid. That was who he is now — a midfielder. He doesn’t know many when he has first stepped foot onto the world of Real Madrid football — maybe knowing a few names but he’s never actually taken the time to properly interact with someone. He’s gotten a good analysis of the players on the team, including the coach — but weirdly enough, he can’t get a good reading on you. That was the start of a blossoming friendship — where the two who had once never bothered to share a glance at the other, slowly starts to open up and properly understand each other. Despite the initial language barrier, as in where he could hardly understand you in Spanish and how you couldn’t understand him in Japanese — the two of you still sticked, sticked together like glue.

Even after his personality slowly changes, as he has a shift in his views — growing distant and cold, you had managed to carve a spot in his heart, allowing for you to stay by him.

Sae had a newfound hatred for Japan. He couldn’t give a damn if that was his birthplace — the only reason he’s here right now is to renew his passport. But upon finding out that you were visiting Japan — he couldn’t resist staying for a couple more days.

“Took you forever to get out.” He murmured, hands stuffed into the pockets of his jacket — acting as if he was annoyed, though deep down, the two of you knew he couldn’t bring himself to be truly annoyed at you.

“Here — let me take your luggage for you.” He mumbled, reaching for the handle of your luggage without even letting you to answer.

Maybe with you around — he supposed his small trip to Japan wouldn’t be so unbearable.
