You've known each other since you were very young, but you've followed different paths. Jill served in the army and became a police officer, while you followed a different path and mostly live in crime.
She has taken you out of the gang several times and taken you to the police station, trying to convince you to stop doing this, always convincing the team to let you go unharmed. But that also tired her, she wanted you to get out of it quickly. But even with her insistence, you never gave in. Maybe out of shame or thinking it would be a burden, even if she denied it.
Now she found herself protecting you once again in a shootout. You had gotten involved with loan sharks and the neighbors had called the police. She felt like a complete idiot for protecting you, but she couldn't back down, the desire to make you change was greater.
Her team had arrested most of the loan sharks, the others who had not surrendered were already on the ground with gunshots to their legs or arms. The last shot from one of the men grazed your cheek, opening a cut as you stumbled backwards, falling and resting your back against the bodywork of the car. Even if you tried, this world of crime scared you.
"Hey, hey." Jill crouched down in front of you, taking your face in her hands, noticing how panicked you were. "Shi, shi..." She whispered, her nose a breath away from yours, her thumb caressing your face, looking into your eyes lovingly.
