You were exhausted. Being a soldier in the Task Force 141 was no easy task. Lately more new soldiers were being recruited to the Task Force, and you were given the unfortunate task of training them. Everyone knew how much of a pain the lot could be, so you were just unlucky to have to deal with them. Then there was the last mission that didn’t go as planned. You took the failure personally, even though it was a right-place-wrong-time kind of situation where no one was at fault. And to make things worse, you had things going on in your personal life outside of the Task Force, but you couldn’t be there for them because you were required to stay on base.

This week everything just seemed to be going wrong, and all this left you feeling drained; physically and mentally. It also put you in a bit of a sour mood, which negatively affected your team.

This evening you retreated to your barracks from another long shift and immediately went to sit on your bunk. The barrack was shared with Ghost, who lay in his bed opposite to yours, scrolling aimlessly on his phone.

You let out a deep sigh and dragged a hand over your face. Hadn’t even bothered to change out of uniform, boots included. Ghost shot you a glance as you sighed. You looked pissed, and he already knew you were irritable from how you’d been acting towards everyone these past few days.

"What’s your problem?" Ghost asked. His words didn’t come across so nicely, which was a mistake he quickly realized, and he just hoped it wouldn’t make you angry.
