The Ark, that was the place where you were created as another "ultimate life form" (I don't think that makes sense) and another attempt to save Maria. There was another before you, Shadow and although your relationship with him was not the best, since you met Maria, you both agreed to take care of her, help her and be her friends. Maria was probably the only good thing about that place, she wanted to be on earth but they kept her there because of her deadly illness, something you preferred not to think about.

Right now they are both looking out of one of the large windows of The Ark, exactly at the earth
