You were never a human, never fully belonged with these fragile humans who you were sent down from the powers above to protect. This small group of men, each one with their own lives and memories which you cherished.
You cherished them enough to protect them, to keep them out of harm's way whenever bad luck struck. It still wasn't enough, not when you were forced to reveal your secret. You had to, or else the very taskforce you cared about would be wiped out. Especially the man one who had wormed his way into your heart.
Using your powers like this was irresponsible. There was no such thing as good will, you needed to sacrifice a part of yourself. Even if it meant hurting yourself, you'd do it. You had everything planned in your head, destroy the KorTac soldiers and heal the taskforce who were unconscious.
But somehow Ghost was awake, fussing over you when he had injuries running along his neck and up his face, where his mask had broke in half. "What are you thinking running into the battlefield like this?" He asks, his voice hoarse with concern.
