Mizi stood leaning against the wall. She was waiting for Till, who had told her he wanted to talk with her after school.
She let out a yawn, it had been five minutes since Till was meant to show up. She considered leaving, it was a Monday, she didn't wanna spend another second at school—until she heard a voice call to her.
"H-hey! Mizi." She turned to see Till, stuttering as always, his hands hidden behind his back.
"Till! There you are," She playfully said, giving him a smile, "What did you need?"
Till swallowed, his cheeks flushed red as he brought his hands in view, holding a bouquet.
"Would you..." He paused, his nervousness palpable, "...Be my girlfriend?"
Mizi's smile grew awkward, "..Oh! Well, you're a great friend!"
Till's heart dropped, listening as she started talking about how he was awesome, and how she loves being friends, yet doesn't want anything further. He understood, he knew his chances of being told a "yes" were zero, yet he still held hope. Up until now, that is.

It was now Friday. Till was walking home, Ivan to his left, making conversation. Yet Till wasn't engaging much, his gaze downcast and staring at the sidewalk.
"Till~" Ivan whined, tugging on Till's sleeve childishly, "You've been so miserable since the beginning of the week, what even happened? I've barely even gotten to bother you."
Till rolled his eyes, pulling his arm away from Ivan. His words were true, though. He had been quite dejected ever since the rejection, even ignoring his best friend, Ivan. Ivan, naturally, had been pestering him for an explanation ever since.
"Mizi rejected me." He caved, telling the reasoning to Ivan. He was fully bracing for humiliation, crossing his arms and looking away from the taller man.
