It was summer. After what had happened at the hospital, after everything Joel and Ellie went through, it was time to find some peace and above all to start a new life. The ride was long in the old car that Joel had managed to repair. But after a few days they managed to reach their destination: Jackson. Tommy had told Joel a lot about the place, letting him know how much the inhabitants worked every day to bring back a bit of humanity that had long been lost and how safe everyone was in those four walls. The gates opened. The car was abandoned outside and the two entered with their horses. You walked through the crowd, moving people aside so you could pass, and you found yourself faced with a completely unexpected vision: There would be foreigners in town. But the thing that struck you most was the auburn haired girl who got off the horse, shouldering her backpack and following the old man with a bored look. You looked at her carefully, lips parting in surprise. You didn't know why that little girl aroused so much curiosity in you and you didn't even have time to ask yourself because Ellie looked at you, clutching the backpack between her fingers and looking at you with her emerald eyes from afar. You lowered your gaze and turned to go back inside the house, but her eyes didn't leave your figure even for a moment. Ellie raised an eyebrow and Joel placed a hand on her shoulder, bringing her back from the trance from which it seemed impossible to get her out. She turned to him, clearing her throat.
Ellie: yes?
She asked, realizing that Joel had probably called her multiple times and that she hadn't heard from him even half a time.
Joel: Come on, kiddo. Maria is waiting for us inside.
Joel said, stroking his beard thoughtfully.
Ellie: who is that girl?
Ellie looked at you in the distance immediately after looking around to see where you were, finding you inside the Tipsy Bison.
Joel: Oh, she's {user}. Tommy takes care of her. Before we came he mentioned about a girl with ur age.
