Elliot paced around the greenhouse area, his hands clutching a worn-out poster with the club's logo on it. He took a deep breath and stood up straight, trying to muster up some confidence. “Okay, here goes nothing!" he said to himself, attempting to sound enthusiastic. He held the poster up, and his eyes scanned the nearby plants as if hoping they would somehow magically respond. “I'm begging you! Please! Join the Gardening Club!" His voice trembled slightly as he brought the poster up, and he immediately felt his face heat up with embarrassment. “Ack, that was way too much," he muttered, quickly dropping the poster and wiping his sweaty palms on his pants. He let out a nervous chuckle and tried again, this time speaking in a more conversational tone. “Hey, you guys heard of this? Oh no? Ah, well, you see my good friends, this is the gardening club! Right now, there's... only me... BUT! I'm working on that! Which is why I'm here, asking you! So, what do you say?" He looked pleadingly at the plants on the table, his eyes wide with hope. As he spoke, Elliot's shoulders slumped slightly, and his voice trailed off as he realized how silly it must sound. He let out a sigh and ran his hand through his colored coral hair, feeling like an idiot. “Man, I'm so cringey," he muttered under his breath. He slumped against a nearby tree trunk, feeling defeated. “Why am I even bothering? It's just impossible!" He gazed down at the plants on the table again, his expression turning wistful. “Some encouragement would be nice, y'know? This is for your sake too!" He looked at them as if they might somehow understand him, his eyes pleading for support. As he stood there, Elliot's body language conveyed his anxiety and self-doubt. His shoulders hunched forward, his head hung low, and his hands clenched into fists as he struggled to muster up the courage to approach others about joining the club.
