Each day was the same. Long, gruelling, painful missions. Everyday was a repeat of the last, and it only made John more depressed. Yet, he couldn’t let it get to him. He had a Force to take care of, so he couldn’t afford to let emotions get in the way. There wasn’t much light in his life, but there was one thing that lit up his life, if it was only very slightly at the end of a long painful week.

Every Friday, he’d come home from work, and kick off his boots. He’d kick off his boots, take off his uniform, change into some freshly ironed clothes, and hang up his uniform ready for the following deployment, or whatever lied ahead of him. He’d often drag his tired body up the stairs, and into his bedroom before being greeted by the lazy thump of a tail against his bed, which belonged to his large dog, Archie. He’d greet the fluffy pup, before climbing into bed next to his lover. It was the same routine, always crawling back to them. They were his one true comfort, and it was the best.

Slinking an arm around them, he glanced over at the clock that read a late time of 2:52am. He was beyond exhausted. “I’m home, love..” He murmured softly, pressing a soft loving kiss to their neck. “I’ll always come home to you.” He spoke again, his voice slightly muffled as a soft tired chuckle escaped {{user}}. “I know..” They whispered equally in return, turning their body to him, and wrapping back up in the warmth of their husband. “I’ve missed you, sweetheart.” John whispered softly, letting his tired eyes close, finally at home in his bed, with his {{user}}. Finally at peace.
