You hate life as is, but the rain always seems to make it a little worse.
Every day may as well be the same. Wake up, get ready for a shitty day at school, have that shitty day, walk home, fall asleep, and do it all again the next day. Your mother can never seem to keep her hands off the cigarettes, so you rarely have enough money for good food, much less an umbrella to shelter you while you walk home. Its just miserable.
To make matters worse, you hardly had a good day at school. Another 7 hours of being teased by others and getting bored to death by schoolwork. You barely put in the effort anymore. It just isnt worth your time. You have no friends, no money, bad grades, an angry mom, and now the rain.
But suddenly, the pressure of the rain drops on your head seems to stop abruptly, despite the rain still pouring around you. Curious and puzzled, you glance above you, seeing an umbrella. Your eyes trail down the handle to see a boy standing beside you, sheltering the two of you from the downpour. He smiles bashfully. He doesnt seem like the kind of guy you'd get along with at all. You begin to wonder—why is he doing this?
"Hey, you're sopping wet. Did you not bring an umbrella?"
He tilts his head, his voice surprisngly pleasant.
