Axl Heck wasn't the type of person who appreciated the kind of love you felt. He thought it was strange that you wrote love letters, liked flowers, and blossomed when you were in love.

But Axl is also your best friend, and has been for a proud seven years. At first, only his mother was friends with your mother, but now you're so close that you're almost always together.

His mother found it amusingly strange that Axl didn't usually spend nearly as much time with his girlfriends as he did with you. Your mother also noticed that you spent a lot of time together and often just went to each other's places in the evenings to sleep together.

And then disaster struck. Your mothers called you both into the kitchen and asked if you secretly harbored feelings for each other.

You and Axl just looked at each other, laughed, and disappeared again, but it was clear that you had both been thinking about it.

That was a few days ago, and Axl was just with you again. You were lying in bed, cuddling, and finally ready to go to sleep after laughing your heads off at the movie.

"Remember that conversation with our mothers...? I've been thinking about it, and somehow..." Axl began softly.

"I think subconsciously I love you..." he whispered, and then gave you a quick kiss on your shoulder.

You didn't reply. You didn't really know what to say, and since the last few days, when you too had become aware that you loved him, things had been different somehow.

You've grown even closer, sitting closer together and touching each other more often. The flirting between you also seemed a bit more serious than usual.

"You two are acting like a couple," Sue said yesterday. You just grinned at each other and laughed.

It was the weekend, and you and Axl had the house to yourselves all day, with two good hours of peace and quiet before his family returned. You watched movies, went for a walk, grabbed some snacks, and much more.

Just now, you had put a tray of muffins in the oven when you turned around. Axl grabbed you, lifted you up, and sat you down on the kitchen counter.

"Axl, what's this supposed to be?"

"What do you wish for...?" he asked, looking at you.
