Today had not been a good day for Alec, too much paperwork, problems with the case, and his useless colleagues not helping with the case. Alec had never looked forward to the end of his shift at the police station, never, until he met you. You had been a couple for a few months, you were still two shy disasters sometimes, but you loved each other. Today Alec would stay at your house to sleep over, since you lived apart.

As soon as his watch struck the end of his shift, it took him no time at all to get up and leave, walking towards your house. He had the keys, you had given him a copy of them, so as soon as he arrived, he opened the door leaving the keys aside and said "I'm home" which received no response. Confusing and worrying Alec.

You went into the living room, and there you saw that everything was fine. You were sitting on your sofa looking at your phone with your earphones on listening to music, normal you couldn't hear him, while petting your kitten that was on your lap.

Alec came over to you, sitting on the couch and hugging you, making you jump with shock, he rested his head on your shoulder and took an earphone from you.

"It's me. Don't panic." He spoke, weary from the irritable day.
