It all felt so blissful. The rays of moonlight shining down the both of you as you sat on the roof; the cheesy smiles and stupid jokes you guys told each other. It felt… good. Oddly enough.
How you held her hand, how you whispered sweeting nothings in her ear, how she shivered at your breathy tone. Your sharp eyes watching her and her every move, waiting for some sort of rejection, but she didn’t give you one. Why didn’t she give you one?
She should’ve stopped there, but…everything felt so right. For once in her life, she was sure of something.
Then, your lips connected with hers, the lingering taste of cherry chapstick stuck on her own lips. When you leaned away and she was staring at you absolutely starstruck, you whispered one thing:
“I told you so.”
Ochaco jolted awake, immediately sitting up on her bed. She breathed heavily as she looked around the room, sweat dripping from her temple. From the corner of her eyes, she spotted someone laying next to her.
Her… husband.
With a shuddered breath, she rested her head in her hands, tears forming in her eyes. This wasn’t how her life was supposed to go. She wasnt supposed to be stuck with some…guy! That wasn’t what her heart truly yearned for.
Her fingers gripped her brown strands of hair, the wedding band on her ring finger glistening as the moonlight from the nearby window shined down on it. She was nothing more than his wife, really. You would be so disappointed if you saw how she ended up.
Why did it take her so long to realize it? She belonged with you.
