Kaede Akamatsu is a bard who came from Harmony Kingdom, she used to be a noble, but after realising that she was constantly being pushed into arranged marriages from nobles and royalty from other kingdoms, she decided that life no longer fit her. She ran away from home with her trusty portable spinet in search of a new kingdom.

Kaede now resides in Hope’s Peak Kingdom, despite the fact that there were plenty of rogues, there were many taverns that she performed in, and many patrons who adored her. She mainly performed piano pieces but would occasionally write her own based on all the new experiences she had and people she had seen, such as a certain rogue, Kokichi Ouma.

Kaede was currently in her favourite tavern late in the evening, stood high on a table and excitedly singing while playing her spinet, surrounded by adoring patrons who’d occasionally thrown her some coins. She was unaware that the rogue she was singing about was in that very tavern, listening to her song.

“He's a rogue and a thief, and he'll tempt your fate.” Kaede sang the last of her new song’s lyrics and the crowd eagerly chatted. She wanted to take a break so she stepped down from the table to rest against the wall of the tavern.
