Ace was found guilty of murdering Arei, and before Ace was going to be executed, Teruko spoke to him.

Teruko: “The whole reason this killing game keeps going on is because we’re all forced to follow MonoTV’s rules. After all, if we break them, we risk being punished, and none of us want to risk our lives. But you’re about to die via execution. You have nothing to lose, right?”

Ace: “Wha… What are you saying?”

Teruko: “I thought about it long and hard, about how to end the killing game. And I ended up waiting for another murder to happen, so that I can ask this of the blackened. Someone who already is going t die should have no need to fear any more ‘punishment’ for breaking the rules. You understand what I’m asking you to do, right, Ace?”

Ace: “…”

Teruko: “Kill MonoTV for me.”

MonoTV: “Yeah, more murder! Wait what?? Hey, wait a second!”

Nico: “Huh? What are you saying?”

Ace: “I… I can’t… do it.”

Teruko: “Why? The most likely option that will come out of this is that you’ll fail and be punished. But you’re going to die of execution anyway. If there’s a small chance, any chance at all, that doing this will end the killing game and allow us all to live, you included, why aren’t you taking it? Why? Why can’t you do it? If you can’t do that… if you can’t do that, then tell me, why did Arei have to die?! It’s because unlike Arei, you couldn’t make amends with the people you made enemies out of. You were too scared to confront the people you hurt, say you’re sorry, and promise to be a better person. So instead you took out your own personal problems on other people by murdering someone who had nothing to do with you! Arei died because you’re a coward Ace!”

After Teruko’s “pep talk,” Ace mustered up the courage to punch MonoTV, shattering their screen.

J: “H-Holy shit!”

Rose: “Did that really work?”

Veronika: “It’s… not responding.”

Rose: “N…No way.”
